Balancing atmosphere and useful information
A hospitality website needs strong imagery and emotion, but visitors must still understand room choices, amenities, location and the next action.
Hospitality case study
A responsive landing page presenting a fictional Cape Coast hotel through warm visual storytelling, clear room information and a practical enquiry experience.
Welcome to Cape Breeze
Project overview
Cape Breeze was created as a fictional boutique hotel concept that communicates the calm, character and hospitality associated with Ghana’s coast.
The landing page introduces the hotel, presents three room options, explains available amenities and highlights nearby Cape Coast destinations.
The experience ends with a structured booking enquiry form that allows prospective guests to provide their dates, room preference and contact information.
The challenge
A hospitality website needs strong imagery and emotion, but visitors must still understand room choices, amenities, location and the next action.
Clear sections guide visitors from the hotel introduction through rooms and local attractions before presenting the booking-enquiry form.
Key functionality
Desktop and mobile navigation with accessible menu controls, Escape-key support and responsive behaviour.
Three room types display starting prices, capacity, bed type, views and short descriptions.
Pool, dining, Wi-Fi, transport, reception and business facilities are presented clearly.
Cape Coast Castle, Kakum National Park, Elmina and local beaches connect the hotel concept to its location.
Guests can provide contact details, dates, guest count, room preference and an optional message.
Cloudflare analytics and uptime monitoring help confirm that the deployed website remains available.
Technical approach
Semantic HTML organises the story, rooms, amenities, gallery, testimonials and contact information.
Responsive CSS creates the coastal visual identity and adapts the complete page across screen sizes.
JavaScript manages mobile navigation and interaction states while preserving accessible attributes.
Formspree processes booking enquiries without requiring a custom application backend.
Cloudflare publishes the website and provides analytics, with UptimeRobot monitoring its availability.
Outcome
The finished project demonstrates how a static website can still provide a polished brand experience, meaningful interactions and a working enquiry pathway.
It strengthened my experience with responsive layouts, accessible navigation, third-party form integration, deployment, analytics and production monitoring.
